How to Choose the Right Ballast Reflectors

Choosing the right remote ballast reflector is very important for your indoor garden. Having a Sun System reflector is a huge part of keeping your plants healthy and properly lit. The plants in your indoor garden depend on having a regular schedule of appropriate lighting in order to thrive. Many people new to indoor gardening know that light is important for their plants, but are unaware just how important proper illumination can be. Plant lights are a necessity, and grow light reflectors are a very beneficial means of increasing the efficiency of your lighting system. They make your grow lights more efficient, they also help to conserve the energy used by your indoor garden.

Choosing the right one for your indoor garden doesn't need to be a complicated process. Sun System offers various styles and you have many options as you select the right one to work with both your indoor garden and your plant system. Just as you choose your type lamp based on the type of plants you are growing, the amount of space you have to grow them, and the amount of ventilation in the room, you must choose them with the same attention to detail.

Your plants need a cycle of illumination when you are growing them inside, equivalent to the cycle they would have outdoors. They also need proper temperature, which they would normally get from the sun and the various seasons. Since you are doing this inside, they do not have access to natural sunlight. This is both a benefit and an obstacle to indoor gardening. The benefit is that you can harvest anything, regardless of the season, when you are gardening indoors because the temperature outside is not an issue. The downfall is that you have to ensure that you have the correct spectrum and illumination to provide the right amount of lumens compared to the space you are using. Your plants need to have the correct temperature, extreme temperatures will cause your plants to be unhealthy, not blossom correctly, and even die.

Many types have built in air cooling systems, which pull the heat away from the lamps. This is beneficial to both your plants and your bulbs. HID or fluorescent bulbs that are allowed to heat too much too often will have a short lifespan. It is also a very good idea to have a system for cooling in place for safety purposes. Overheated lamps can cause damage to your home and your plants, and could possibly start a fire.

You also have the option of a horizontal or vertical ballast reflectors. Horizontal are best when you have a large amount of plants, whereas horizontal work best with small amounts of plants.
