Grow Light BallastIf you are looking to use lighting to help your plants grow well, there are many different types of growing lights you can begin to look into. There are many factors to consider when you begin to choose your lighting system. These factors include the time of year, the location of where you are living at the time, what part of the yard your garden will be in, the climate of your region, the daily temperature, the kind of soil you have in your yard, and the amount of sunlight your plants will get on a daily basis. While for many years people chose which plants they were able to grow by taking a careful look at the factors above, nowadays, those facts are almost obsolete! Plants need light to grow. However, instead of just relying on the sunlight to grow your plants, you now have the option of purchasing various lighting systems to help your plants grow and flourish. The best one of these lighting systems is the ballast grow lights. Now, with the ballast grow lighting system you can plant virtually any seeds, anywhere you want, at whatever time of year! Most people who use lighting for their plants recognize the fact that florescent lights are the best type of lights to make your plants grow as they should. While this may be true in specific cases, for example, for seedlings at the early stages of growth, or certain plants that thrive on low light situations, the ordinary florescent is simply not strong enough for many plants. The growth of an ordinary plant may be as high as 6-8" and the ordinary florescent lights simply no longer cut it! This is where grow lighting comes into play. A single one of these can emit a much larger amount of light and can be spread out over numerous plants, because it will be mounted directly above the plant. When using ballast grow lights, make sure that the light is placed as close to the tips of the plants as possible while they are still growing. Do not let the light actually touch the plant, or the leaves could end up being burnt. As your plants grow tall and sometimes thin, it means they need more light. You should bring your ballast grow light even closer to the plants in this situation. Initially try to place your seedlings, sometimes up to hundreds of them, directly into the rays of one ballast grow lamp. Choosing the best lighting system for your plants can be a difficult choice to make. It is important to weigh all options, such as how much each system costs, how many plants can be lit by a single light, and what the upkeep is going to involve. Ballast grow lights are a good bang for your buck and can successfully help you to plant whatever you would like to grow, in whatever climate. Choosing to purchase one of these unique lighting systems will ensure healthy plants all season long. |
