Light Bulb Base

The bulb base mechanically keeps the lamp mechanically in place in the desired application. The light bulb base directly or indirectly conducts electricity from the inner circuits to the lamp itself. (i.e. Metal Halide Bulb). They can help with heat dissipation which will mean longer lamp life. Lamp bases need to be operated within a specified temperature ranges. HID Bulbs typically have different sockets. (i.e. Mogul Sockets , Medium Base Sockets)
